Documentation 4-channel video installation, 8.18″, (2010)
The video is shown in a large square space, made out of four walls of 3.30m by 2.50m, in which the viewer takes place inside.
The image of a slowly transforming silhouette creates a spatial environment together with a changing backround and a circuling light beam.
These three elements make up a constantly evolving environment that surrounds you.

WILD BEAMEN #1

Video projection on the roof of a church in Groede (zeeuws-vlaanderen). The figure of a woman is shown moving alongside a wall, repeatedly making rhythmical movements and gestures which almost turns into an intimate dance with the surface behind her.

Safe House

‘Safe House’, 2.34″ (fragment) 2009
In this video installation the act of observing and experiencing are the main subjects. Your interpretation of what you experience can sometimes be misleading. The video is shown on a large screen set up to fully cover one side (wall) of a space. As a viewer you can step up to the the screen, making it possible to experience the ‘world’ happening in front of you with both mind and body.

Anonymous flights

Anonymous flights, 2.34″, 2008
We constantly come across other people and places. Lives intertwine, purposes get mixed and routes come together and go apart. What seems to be an image of someone going somewhere, then gets disturbed by other people, forcing themselves into her space and into her mind.

Ground projection ‘untitled’

Ground Projection II (fragment), 8.04″, 2009
A video installation in which images are projected on the floor of an architectural surrounding built up with industrial objects. People walk over the images and through their movements on top of the images a new world is created that plays a game with their perception.

Sheer Vision

A distorted view seen through the eyes of someone who is observing the surroundings through a visor filled with glass parts that turns the world into a sequence of moving fragmented abstract images.

Shadow transport

Movements of everyday life shown through the shadows they cast on the surface.

Appearing and dissappearing, showing and hiding, connecting and holding back.

Sound installation ‘My Act’

Spoken tekst, music and sounds make up a scene in which you’re not sure where and if it is happening, or if it’s just allin the mind.
Presented as an installation where you sit inside a small square space in total darkness, with only the sound of the audio piece filling up the room.

I am currently following the short course VJ Visual Production at the SAE Institute in Amsterdam.

In July I graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam at the AudioVisual department (VAV). The main disciplines in which I work are video installation, video projection in public space, film and photography.
I focus on creating visual environments that linger on the border between reality and illusion, challenging your perception and experience of the place you are in: manipulating the existing infrastructure and space making it possible to be in continuously changing surroundings, and make you ‘look’ again.
